1. General
The switching of the laser power, which is turned on by CNC, is possible by feeding the
external on/off signal to the interface PCB of the laser oscillator.
Using this function, the external control of the laser power can be performed introduc
ing the pulse train signal, which is controlled pulse on/off time wise.
2. Specification
2.1 Laser oscillator interface
In the external power control mode (to be described later), the CNC sends pulse duty 0 %
command to the laser oscillator irrespective of the kind of power command (CW or pulse).
(2)
In this case, the CNC makes the ON/OFF-TIME Command “0”.
When the ON/OFF-TIME Command is “0”, the laser oscillator is able to control GATE
with the external signal.
When the external signal turns on, GATE output becomes “0”, SELECTOR is selected for
INPUT A and POWER Command is output.
When this signal turns off, GATE output becomes “1”, SELECTOR is selected for INPUT B
and BASE DISCHARGE Command is output.
The introduction of pulse train as the external signal, in this way, results in the formation of
SELECTOR output of the pulse train consisting alternatively of POWER Command and
BASE DISCHARGE Command, which is sent to the power supply unit and pulse-modulates
the laser power.
