NOTE
S The following notes are applicable to all types of memory
cards:
1 The files on a memory card that can be displayed and
selected are only the first to 64th files registered in the root
directory area.
2 The files on a memory card that can be displayed and
selected on a memory card are only those files in the root
directory area. The sub–directory area cannot be used. A
file on a memory card can be named using an alphanumeric
character string in uppercase not longer than 8 characters
and an extension not longer than 3 characters.
3 The time used to read/write data varies, depending on the
type of memory card, memory card use status, and so forth.
4 When a memory card is used, a file on the memory card may
be deleted by mistake. It is recommended to back up
important data to the personal computer.
S The following note is applicable to flash ATA cards:
5 Flash ATA cards are formatted in the quick format (in which
the file allocation table and root directory information are
cleared). Format an unformatted flash ATA card on the
personal computer.
S The following notes are applicable to flash memory cards:
6 The files on a flash memory card cannot be deleted on a
one–by–one basis. Instead, all files on a flash memory card
must be deleted at a time. For this reason, the following
operations are disabled:
S Deletion of an existing file
S Overwriting a file with the same name
7 When a flash memory card is used, the last 128KB of the
card is used as a buffer area in write operation. So, the
usable capacity of a flash memory card is reduced by
128KB.
