MD: Depth of cut (Radius) entered on the process data screen
U: Finishing allowance (Delail data screen : diameter) in the X–axis
direction entered on the initial setting screen (Detail data screen)
W: Finishing allowance along the Z–axis entered on the initial setting
screen (Detail data screen)

machining
NOTE
1 In rough machining, cutting is performed to produce a figure
which has a clearance of the finishing allowance (along the
X–axis and Z–axis) plus the tool tip R radius from the
specified contour.
2 When cutting for all the specified figures is completed
semi–finish machining is performed. The tools and cutting
conditions used for semi–finish machining are the same as
those for rough machining.
Semi–finish machining, however, can be canceled by
setting bit 5 of Parameter No. 9772 to 1.
3 In the following cases, semi–finish machining is always
performed:
Outer surface machining: X coordinate of a cutting start
point < Maximum X coordinate of a contour
Inner surface machining: X coordinate of a cutting start
point > Minimum X coordinate of a contour
End facing: Z coordinate of a cutting start point < Maximum
Z coordinate of a contour
