- If a low battery voltage or a battery voltage of 0 V is indicated by
an APC (absolute Pulsecoder) alarm, replace the battery (A06B-
If a battery voltage of 0 V is indicated, you need to make a zero
- The absolute Pulsecoder of the αis/αi series servo motor is
incorporated with a backup capacitor as standard. This backup
capacitor enables an absolute position detection to be continued
for about 10 minutes. Therefore, no zero point return need be
performed if the time during which servo amplifier power is kept
off for battery replacement is within 10 minutes.
On the contrary, the absolute Pulsecoder of the standard α series
servo motor is not incorporated with a backup capacitor. Be
careful when replacing the battery for this Pulsecoder. See
[Caution No. 1 for battery replacement] at the end of this section
- The service life of the batteries is about two years with αis/αi
series servo motors and one year with α series servo motors.
FANUC recommends that you replace the batteries periodically
according to the battery service life.
- The built-in batteries are not commercially available. They must
be purchased from FANUC. So, FANUC recommends that you
