5.6. Laser gas
(1) Laser gas specification
For Level up C2000-E, following gas specifications are required:
・Composition and accuracy:
CO
2
= 5±0.25%、 He= 60±3.00%、 N
2
= 35±1.75% (He Balance)
・Water vapor (H
2
O): less than 5ppm
・Hydrocarbons(C
n
H
m
): less than 1ppm
・Gas purity: higher than 99.99%
(2) Connection
At the bottom of the front panel of the laser oscillator are the gas In and OUT
connections with aR
C
3/8 pipe threat (3/8PT). Prepare the tubing as in following
diagram.

(3) Regulator
Install a regulator at the output of the gas cylinder that can be adjusted between 0 and 0.5
MPa. Adjust the laser gas pressure to be used for the oscillator to 0.175±0.025 MPa.
(4) Fittings and tubes
Prepare a fitting Rc3/8(3/8PT)and use tube for vacuum applications with an inner
diameter of min.8mm. The material should be stainless steel or Polyfro (polyethylene)
tube (manufactured by Imperial Co.). For connection, use SWAGELOK fittings or TIG
welding.
−Caution−
Do not use copper tubes and inadequate resin tubes such as nylon, rubber or
urethane and connection by brazing, one-touch coupler, quick coupler or
hose-band fittings. They will cause a decrease of the laser gas quality.
