1. GENERAL
Transportation of the lithium primary battery in the passenger plane of the U.S. arrival and
departure was forbidden, In addition, when transporting a lithium primary battery in the U.S., it
was obliged to display specification on an exterior container from December 29, 2004 by the U.S.
DOT regulation* of an official announcement on December 15, 2004.

Since all the batteries for backup of the absolute Pulsecoder of the type with built-in servo
amplifier used with αi series, βi series servo amplifier, etc. were the objects of regulation, the
solution to this regulation is explained as follows.

In transporting only a lithium primary battery for the U.S. or in the U.S., give the following indication
(marking) designated on the exterior container of a lithium primary battery in all transportation of
land, marine, and a railroad.
Moreover, please use a cargo flight for transportation by the airplane of the U.S. arrival and
departure.
