Improvement of lamp for pulse type YAG laser
This reports inform that the improvement of flash lamp which is used on the pulse type YAG laser.
The purpose of this improvement is to enhance quality of lamp. The new lamp is available for the laser
model YP1000-E, YP500A and YP500B.
1． Design modification of lamp
We had reviewed a design of old lamp. And we developed a new designed lamp. The new lamp has
better qualities compared to old lamp. The gas pressure inside is best selected. And we changed the
material of electrodes. Then the discharge starting performance is improved with the new lamp.
On the other hand, size and shapes of lamp is not changed. So that, there is a complete
compatibility between new lamp and old one. This new lamp can be use following 3 laser models,
YP1000-E ,YP500A and YP500B. We had started to use the new lamps since May, 2003.

2． Test of lamps
We had started to test all of lamps to confirm the lamp quality. The items of this tests are
appearance inspection, dimensional inspection, electrical load test, and so on.
