Chapter 6.
Other automatic Tool Measurements
6.1. Outline
The tool geometry offset values, which are measured with active 2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset function and
mounted Sauter Turret, contained the compensation value of tool post as well.
The handling of the tool geometry offset data measurement procedure is for all automatic measurement
functions the same.
6.2. Tool Offset Value Measurement A
The “2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset Data” function hasn’t any influence to this function.
The description of this function explained that the difference between the amounts of the actual stored tool
geometry data and the recorded tool geometry offset data is calculated. The actual stored tool geometry data
will be corrected with the result of this calculation and will be not overwritten with the amount of the
recorded or inputted data.
6.3. Automatic Tool Offset (G36 X_ and G37 Z_)
The “2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset Data” function hasn’t any influence to this function.
The description of this function explained that the difference between the amounts of the actual stored tool
geometry data and the measured tool geometry data is calculated. The actual stored tool geometry data will
be corrected with the result of this calculation and will be not overwritten with the amount of the
measurement.
6.4. Workpiece Coordinate System Shift
This function is a part of the function “Input of Tool Offset Value Measurement B” and is started with the
signals “WOQSM” and “WOSET”. This function is shifting the workpiece co-ordinate and
the “2
nd
Geometry Tool Offset Data” function hasn’t any influence to this function.
