Improvement of AI contour control
/ AI nano contour control

1. Specification
During AI contour control / AI nano contour control mode, when a command of rotation axis is specified in
inch input, the time constant of acceleration/deceleration becomes 25.4 times compared with that at millimeter
input.
By this improvement, when the parameter AIH (No.7057#1) is set to “1”, the time constant of acceleration
/deceleration at inch input becomes the same as that at millimeter input.
CNC controls so that the total feedrate, which is calculated from the each axis feedrate, is changed with a
constant acceleration/deceleration ratio at the acceleration/deceleration before interpolation. When CNC
calculates the total feedrate, the each axis feedrate is calculated with the unit of F command. That is, CNC
assumes that 1 mm/min and 1 deg/min are the same at millimeter input and that 1 inch/min and 1 deg/min are
the same at inch input. And when using inch/metric conversion, CNC decides so that the
acceleration/deceleration becomes the same at inch input and millimeter input. Therefore, the time constant of
rotation axis at inch input becomes long as follows.
Time constant of acceleration/deceleration before interpolation
Target feedrate (parameter No.1770) = 10000 mm/min
Time constant (parameter No.1771) = 800 msec
l At millimeter input --- Acceleration ratio = F10000 / 800msec
