3. CONNECTION
3.1 Connecting CNC to Telephone Line
3.1.1 Communication by Modem card.
16i/18i/21i
- While CNC is powered OFF, insert Modem Card to the socket on the front side of CNC
LCD unit.
- The Modem Card is initialized automatically after the CNC is powered ON.
- It can be checked as follows whether the Modem Card is initialized successfully.
Press function key [OFFSET], the next key < “>” >, then the soft-key <MODEM>.
“OK” is displayed at the end of the screen in the case that the Modem Card is
initialized successfully.
In the case that the Modem Card is not initialized successfully, there can be
a problem in the Modem Card, related connectors or so.
(Note) Concerning the items for transmission such as Modem card or handy telephone,
refer to their manuals.
In the case of using handy telephone, successful transmission may not be
obtained depending on the radio wave condition.
WARNING
Something unexpected might occur in case of inserting Modem Card to the
socket while CNC is powered ON. It can cause a dangerous situation.
