A termination of servo control cards, of which servo
Abstract
Now, it is difficult to produce the servo control card, of which servo software is 90Ax, for
FS16i/18i/21i/15i/160i/180i/210i/150i/160is/180is/210is-MODEL A, because some parts for this servo
control card are an end of a production. FANUC have a plan to terminate this axis control card in
Feb. 2003. For this reason, it is necessary to change a specification of the servo control card from
that for a servo software 90Ax to that for the servo software 90Bx. The servo control card for the
servo software 90Bx is basically upper compatible with that for the servo software 90Ax and DSP
speed is faster than that for the servo software 90Ax. This specification change is applied only for
the servo control card for the servo software 90Ax, so it is not necessary to be changed incase of the
servo software 909x, such as FS21i/210i/210is-MDOEL A (standard), and a loader control option.
For this action, the following procedure is necessary.
1) Change the CNC software.
Please refer to the section 1. Applied system and CNC software
2) Change the servo software.
Please refer to the section 2. Servo software and Servo control card.
3) Change the servo control card (HARDWARE).
Please refer to the section 2. Servo software and Servo control card.
Note1:
The specification cannot be changed in the following cases exceptionally.

In case of using Dual check safety. Please use Model B instead of Model A.
In case of FS18i-LNA
In case of using compound machining function
In case of FS20i-MODEL A
1) The system using Dual check safety function cannot use the servo control card for the servo
software 90Bx because of an attestation. Please change from Model A to Model B.
2) The system using compound machining function or FS20i-MODEL A does not support the
servo control card for the servo software 90Bx. But, we are now modifying to support the
servo control card for the servo software 90Bx, and the supported edition will be informed in
near future.
1. Applied system and CNC software
The applied systems are FS16i/18i/21i/160i/180i/210i/160is/180is/210is-MODEL A
and
FS15i/150i-MODEL A
.
But, in case of FS16i/18i/21i/160i/180i/210i/160is/180is/210is-MODEL A
, some series of CNC
software do not support the servo control card for the servo software 90Bx and some CNC software
require the different option assembly. Be sure to refer the following information about CNC
software.
And the system using Dual check safety function cannot use the servo control card for the servo
software 90Bx because of an attestation. Please use i Series-MODEL B.
