MULTIAXIS SYNCHRONIZATION FUNCTION
This chapter describes synchronization control exercised by the Power
Mate i–MODEL H (referred to as the Power Mate i–H).
Synchronization control is the function for operating axes (synchronous
axes) in phase with a synchronization reference axis (synchronization
base axis) as if multiple axes were jointed with gears by using a servo
motor.
An inter–axis speed ratio (gear ratio) can be set. A synchronous
relationship is maintained, regardless of how many turns are made.
During operation, the speed ratio can be changed.
In Fig. 4, the child axis is in phase with the parent axis, and grandchild
axes 1 and 2 are in phase with the child axis.
With this function, control mentioned above can be exercised.

The procedure for synchronous operation is summarized below.
1 Set those axes that are engaged in synchronous operation.
For synchronous operation, set the synchronous relationships between
a synchronization base axis (parent axis) and a synchronous axis (child
axis) by using a parameter. Do not use G10 (automatic operation) for
this setting.
2 Perform synchronous operation.
Perform synchronous operation based on the synchronous
relationships set above.
