SCAN INTERVAL of DeviceNet Master function
The interval of the network scanning can be set by setting the master function of
DeviceNet.
SCAN INTERVAL
The interval when the master function of DeviceNet scans all slaves connected with
the network is called the scanning interval.
The scanning interval is changed depending on the number of slaves connected with
the network, the amounts of the communication data and the baud rate and so on.
Usually, in the master function of DeviceNet , the communication is performed by the
fastest scanning interval in the connected network.
This scanning interval can be changed by setting the SCAN INTERVAL parameter.
However, if the SCAN INTERVAL parameter value is shorter than the minimum scan
interval, the SCAN INTERVAL parameter is ineffective.
The SCAN INTERVAL parameter is used when the scanning interval is slowed down
to avoid excessive message traffic in the network.
Setting of SCAN INTERVAL parameter
The scanning interval is set to the item of “7.SCAN INTERVAL = “ in the
DEVICENET MASTER SETTING screen (Figure 1).
This data must be set in the state of “1.DIS/ENB = DISABLE".
The value of scanning intervals in the item of “7.SCAN INTERVAL = " is available
at setting “1.DIS/ENB = ENABLE".
