1.2 INCREMENTAL ROTARY ENCODER SYSTEM
This section explains a system in which an incremental rotary encoder
s used. i
1.2.1 Example of Configuration
For a system in which an incremental rotary encoder is used, the
following devices are required to configure a motor, in addition to a
otor. m
High Resolution Serial Output Circuit H or C
The High Resolution Serial Output Circuit H/C converts signals
output from the rotary encoder to FANUC serial interface signals and
outputs the converted signals to the servo amplifier. This circuit
internally multiplies a signal output from the rotary encoder by 2048
nd outputs the multiplied signal. a
NOTE
For the specifications of the High Resolution Serial
Output Circuit H/C, see Part I, "SPECIFICATIONS."
Pole Position Detection Function (CNC software option)
Every when turning on a machine, Pole Position Detection Function
(CNC software option) is required to detect an accurate pole position
f motor. o
n example of a typical system configuration is shown below: A
This system requires detection of the zero point whenever the power
o the NC is turned on or off. t
NOTE
For how to install the rotary encoder, see Part III,
"HANDLING, DESIGN, AND INSTALLATION."
