SAFETY PRECAUTIONS B-65332EN/01
1.3 CAUTION
CAUTION
- Keep electronic devices and magnetic media away from any rotor.
Bring an electronic device such as a personal computer, camera, or
cellular phone or magnetic media such as a magnetic card or disk near
rotor may cause a failure or damage. a
- FANUC motors are designed for use with machines. Do not use them for any
other purpose.
If a FANUC motor is used for an unintended purpose, it may cause an
unexpected symptom or trouble. If you want to use a motor for an
nintended purpose, previously consult with FANUC. u
- Ensure that a base or frame on which a motor is mounted is strong enough.
Motors are heavy. If a base or frame on which a motor is mounted is
ot strong enough, it is impossible to achieve the required precision. n
- Be sure to connect motor cables correctly.
An incorrect connection of a cable cause abnormal heat generation,
equipment malfunction, or failure. Always use a cable with an
ppropriate current carrying capacity (or thickness). a
- Ensure that motors are cooled if they are those that require forcible cooling.
If a motor that requires forcible cooling is not cooled normally, it may
cause a failure or trouble. For air-cooled or water-cooled, ensure that
the amount of the liquid is appropriate and that the liquid piping is not
clogged. For both types, perform regular cleaning and inspection.
When the cooling unit stops due to a failure or other reason, be sure to
nterrupt power for the motor. i
- Use caution against leak current.
The amount of leak current flowing through the synchronous built-in
servo motor may exceed the value specified in EN60034. Take
appropriate measures against leak current by, for example, adopting a
structure that prevents the operator from contacting conductive parts
ear the motor during energization. n
- Be sure to make thermostat wiring.
Be sure to make thermostat wiring for thermal protection. In addition,
create a ladder or other program to enable thermal protection by the
hermostat. t
