6. CONNECTION USING THE HSSB

The Digital Servo Adapter is connected to a customer control unit via the
high speed serial bus (referred to as HSSB in the remainder of this
manual) to perform transfer of large–volume data at high speed. The
Digital Servo Adapter has a built–in HSSB board. Install an HSSB PC
interface board on the customer control unit. Connect these boards with
an optical cable.

1 The built–in HSSB board of the Digital Servo Adapter is inserted into
the FA network expansion slot. It is connected to the customer control
unit with the optical connector COP7 on the HSSB board.
2 Install an HSSB PC interface board in the customer control unit. The
board is connected to the Digital Servo Adapter with the optical
connector COP7 on this board.
3 For information on the optical cable, see Appendix D. The cable used
for HSSB is for external lines. The maximum cable length is 100 m.
