6. CONNECTION USING THE HSSB
41
The ISA bus, with ISA standing for Industrial Standard Architecture, is
the standard bus for personal computers that has been designed by IBM
PC/AT compatible manufacturers. If the customer control unit does not
contain neither an ISA nor PCI bus, it is recommended to implement the
ISA bus.
If only an HSSB PC interface board is to be connected, not all of the
signals of the ISA bus need be implemented. Because the PC interface
board is a 16–bit slave, only the read/access signal for that must be
implemented.
More specifically, the following signals are required:
1) Address bus: SA<15..0>, SBHE*
2) Data bus: SD<15..0>
3) Control signal: IOR*, IOW*, IOCHRDY, AEN
4) Clock: OSC (14.31818 MHz)
5) Reset signal: RESETDRV
For an explanation of the pin allocation and timing for these signals, refer
to the ”EISA SPECIFICATION Version 3.12.”
