(7) Rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial output circuit C)
(a) When the rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial) is used, the
parameter setting is as same as the normal linear type of distance-coded reference
marks (serial).
In case of rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial), the marker
interval may be different from parameter setting value. (a-b section of the following
figure) When the reference point return is executed through this section (where scale
data isn’t continuous), it is not able to establish the reference point. Therefore, in
case of rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial), if the reference
point return is started for B point from A point of below figure, the reference point is
not established yet at B point. The reference point return is re-started for C point
automatically. The reference point return procedure is finished at C point.
(b) With the rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial), with
parameter No.1006#1(ROS)=1 (Machine coordinate values are linear axis type,
Rotation axis B type), and with movable range under a rotation, please set the
discontinuous point of scale data out of the movable range if possible. But by setting
parameter No.1817#3 and No.1867 (or No.1868), rotation axis B-type can be set even
if discontinuous point exists within movable range.
(c) The rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial) is unavailable on
rotation axis B-type with movable range over a rotation.
(d) The rotary encoder with distance-coded reference marks (serial) is available on
following CNC ROM series/edition.
