Position where the mark of the head matches
the mark of the main unit (Precision:
±
1 mm)
Mount a linear motor and linear encoder at the position where the
mark of the linear encoder head matches the
mark of the main
linear encoder unit in the figure above.

N pole L=60×M+27±0.5 (mm)
S pole L=60×M+57±0.5 (mm)
CAUTION
1 Before mounting a linear encoder, check that the
positive direction of the linear motor matches the
positive direction of the linear encoder. If a positive
direction mismatch exists, the motor can become
uncontrollable in the worst case. For the method of
checking, see Subsection 2.4.2, "Linear Motor and
Linear Encoder Directions".
2 If a linear encoder is mounted at an incorrect
position, the power factor can drop, and a soft
thermal (OVC) alarm can be issued. In addition, the
motor can become uncontrollable in the worst
case. Before turning on the power to the machine
after machine assembly, recheck the positional
relationships.
NOTE
For details of the linear encoders AT353 and
AT553, contact Mitutoyo, or their sales
representative.
