During power-up of the CNC all data of Flash ROM (FROM) are copied into Main Memory
(DRAM). The system software accesses the setting data and NC program from the static random
access memory (SRAM). The SRAM is kept alive through a battery on the front-side of the CNC-
Unit.
Assumed that the system data is the same at several CNC stations in a plant, only the
application programs of the FROM and the whole SRAM needs to be saved on a regular
basis. Please refer to previous chapter for identifying application files stored in the FROM
of the CNC.
