2.4.4 Absolute Linear Encoder Mounting Position
For 300D/4, 600D/4, and 900D/4
When a linear motor and absolute linear encoder are mounted, their
predetermined positional relationships need to be observed.

Mount a linear motor and linear encoder at the following position in
the figure above:
S = 30 × N (mm) N: Natural number or 0
Magnet end face on the
magnetic pole sensor side
L (mm) M: Natural number
N pole L=30×M+17.5±0.5 (mm)
S pole L=30×M+2.5±0.5 (mm)
CAUTION
1 Before mounting a linear encoder, check that the
positive direction of the linear motor matches the
positive direction of the linear encoder. If a positive
direction mismatch exists, the motor can become
uncontrollable in the worst case. For the method of
checking, see Subsection 2.4.2, "Linear Motor and
Linear Encoder Directions".
2 If a linear encoder is mounted at an incorrect
position, the power factor can drop, and a soft
thermal (OVC) alarm can be issued. In addition, the
motor can become uncontrollable in the worst case.
Before turning on the power to the machine after
machine assembly, recheck the positional
relationships.
