1.3 SIGNALS
Tool change signal TLCH <Fn064#0>
[Classification] Output signal
[Function] Reports the end of the life of the last tool of a group.
[Output condition] The signal is set to "1" when:
- The life of the last tool of a group has expired, after tool change was
performed each time the life of each tool in the group expired.
The signal is set to "0" when:
- There is no group whose life has expired.
When this signal is "1", it is set to "0" by sending tool change reset signal
TLRST from the PMC or by MDI operation to notify the CNC that a tool
change operation has been completed for all groups whose life has expired.
CAUTION
If the tool life is specified by use count, tool change signal TLCH turns
to "1" when the CNC is reset by a command such as M02 or M30
after the tool life has expired or when the tool life count restart M code
is specified.
If the tool life is specified by duration, TLCH turns to "1" when the tool
life has expired even during machining. Machining, however,
continues until the end of the program.
Tool change reset signal TLRST <Gn048#7>
[Classification] Input signal
[Function] The signal clears all execution data of a group such as the tool life count value
and marks "*" and "@".
After replacing all tools of a group that are indicated on the screen as the tools
whose life has expired, input this signal with a group number specified by tool
group number selection signals (TL1 to TL512). By setting bit 4 (GRS) of
parameter No. 6800 to 1, execution data for all registered groups can be cleared
without inputting the tool group number selection signals.
Execution data can be cleared also by MDI operation.
[Operation] When the signal status changes from "0" to "1", the control unit operates as
follows:
- If the lives of all tools of the group specified by the tool group number
selection signals (TL1 to TL512) have expired, the related information is
cleared. Therefore, when a subsequently programmed command specifies the
group number, tools are selected from the beginning. If the group specified by
the tool group number selection signals (TL1 to TL512) contains at least one
tool whose life has not expired, no special operation takes place.
