- Code specifying a tool offset value

Codes specifying a tool offset value include an H code (for tool length offset) and a D code
(for cutter compensation). Numbers up to 999 (up to three digits long) can be registered as
codes specifying tool offset values. However, the number of registered codes must not
exceed the number of tool offsets the CNC can use.
NOTE
When codes specifying tool offset values are not used, the
registration of these codes can be omitted.

If the tool change type is the turret type (bit 3 (TCT) of parameter No. 5040 = 0), neither the
H code nor D code is used as the code specifying a tool offset value. The T code includes a
compensation code. If the tool change type is the ATC type (bit 3 (TCT) of parameter No.
5040 = 1), only the D code is used.
- Tool life value
A tool life value can be registered in terms of use duration or use count. The maximum
value is as follows:
Up to 4300 minutes can be registered if a duration is specified, or up to 65535 times can be
registered if a use count is specified.
When the tool life management B function is enabled, up to 100000 minutes (or 60000
minutes when the life is counted every 0.1 second) can be registered if a duration is
specified, or up to 99999999 times can be registered if a use count is specified.
- Arbitrary group number
M
When a function for allowing specification of arbitrary group numbers is used (bit 5 (TGN)
of parameter No. 6802 = 1), an arbitrary group number can be specified with a T code to
select a tool life management group.
An arbitrary group number ranging from 1 99999999 can be specified.
T
Arbitrary group numbers can be used when the tool change type is the ATC type (bit 3
(TCT) of parameter No. 5040 = 1).
- Remaining life setting
As the remaining life setting until selection of a new tool, either a value set for each group
or a parameter-set value (parameter Nos. 6844 and 6845) is used. Which value is to be
