2.4 Controlled axes
2.4.1 Axes configuration
All controlled axes are commonly used for both command modes.
Namely, all motors are used to control axes common for both modes.
Therefore, there are some parameters setting required and restrictions.
Motors
Amps
Milling mode
ITP process/pulse dist.
Turning mode
ITP process/pulse dist.
Axes are common for both command modes
and their assignment is specified by
parameters(No.13030).
2.4.2 Axis name
Axes names are fixed as basic axes up to 2nd axis for turning mode and 3rd
for milling.
The names of the basic axes are different for modes.
Mode 1st axis 2nd axis 3rd axis
Turning X Z -
Milling X Y Z
Note
• In turning mode, the drilling axis will be changed as X axis or Z axis by
G code command. Other axis could not be drilling axis.
• In milling mode, the drilling axis is a basic axis(X,Y,, or Z) not used to
define the positioning plane, or any axis parallel to the basic axis.
• As for the control axis name, X is the direction of diameter of workpiece
and Z is the direction of the tool axis.
