CANNED GRINDING CYCLE
(FOR GRINDING MACHINE)
Explanations
The intermittent-feed surface grinding cycle consists of six operation sequences.
Operations (1) to (6) are repeated until the depth reaches the total depth of cut specified with
address K. In the single block stop mode, operations (1) to (6) are performed at a time by one
cycle start.
• Operation sequences in the cycle
(1) Grinding wheel cutting
Cutting is performed along the Z-axis in cutting feed mode to the amount specified by I
(depth of cut 1). The feedrate is specified by R.
(2) Dwell
Dwell is performed for the time specified by P.
(3) Grinding
Cutting feed is performed for the amount specified by α. The grinding axis is selected by the
parameter No.5179. The feedrate is specified by F. When address L is specified while the
continuous dressing function is valid, dressing is performed by the cutting axis and the
dressing axis. The dressing axis is selected by the parameter No.5183.
(4) Grinding wheel cutting
Cutting is performed along the Z-axis in cutting feed mode for the amount specified by J
(depth of cut 2). The feedrate is specified by R.
(5) Dwell
Dwell is performed for the time specified by P.
(6) Grinding (return direction)
Cutting feed is performed in the reverse direction to the amount specified by α at a feedrate
specified by F. When address L is specified while the continuous dressing function is valid,
dressing is performed by the cutting axis and the dressing axis.
• Continuous dressing
When the continuous dressing function is valid and during grinding, grinding wheel cutting
and dresser cutting are compensated continuously according to the dressing amount specified
by L. For the details, refer to the explanations of G75.
