8.16 EDITING PROGRAMS IN OPERATION
During automatic operation, programs can be edited by stopping
automatic operation with the feed hold or single block function.
Automatic operation can then be resumed.
Editing programs in operation
Procedure
(1) Stop automatic operation, using the feed hold or single block
function. Make a note of the cursor position.
(2) Enter EDIT mode to edit programs.
(3) Return the cursor to the previous position, which you noted in step
(1).
(4) Return to the previous operation mode to resume automatic
operation.
CAUTION
When resuming memory operation after program
editing, make sure that the cursor is placed at the
previous position. If the cursor is at the wrong
position, the program is not executed as displayed
on the screen after machining is resumed.
Limitation
The available editing operations depend on the type of the program that
is being operated.
1 If a main program is being operated
- All editing operations are available
2 If a subprogram is being operated
- If a subprogram is being operated
- Editing is possible only if the operation has been
memory operation.
- Editing is possible in word units only.
