10.15 HELP FUNCTION
The help function displays detailed information about the alarms that
may be generated in the CNC, as well as an explanation of G code
formats. The following types of information can be displayed.
- Alarm help
If an attempt is made to operate the CNC erroneously or to execute a
machining program containing errors, the CNC enters the alarm state.
When this occurs, the help screen can be referenced to display detailed
information about the alarm that has been generated, determine the
cause of the alarm, and how to cancel the alarm.
- G code guidance
A list of G codes can be referenced, as well as the standard formats of G
codes for a single block. This is useful if you do not know the G code to
use or its format while editing an NC program.
Help function
Display procedure
1. Press the
HELP
key on the MDI panel. A help screen is displayed.
2. One of the items given below is displayed.

1 An alarm has been generated. Alarm help

G or Gxx (where xx is any numeric value)
has been entered in the key-in buffer.
G code help
3 Either of the above applies. Help menu
3. To return to the ordinary operation screen while the help screen is
displayed, press the
HELP
key again.
NOTE
1 A help screen cannot be displayed on PMC screens
or on conversational macro screens.
2 If, while a help screen is being displayed, the help
screen is switched to the above screen, the help
screen is erased.
